Why do I see <unknown ssid> as the SSID when pairing via the Vesta app?

This issue has been resolved with the recent update to the Vesta Sous Vide app. Please be sure to update the app if you encounter this issue. Both iOS and Android apps have been updated as of December 19, 2019.

We have recently learned that a change in Android and iOS has caused the pairing function to be disabled by showing the SSID as <unknown ssid> and our engineers are working on a solution. A workaround is to use an older device to complete the pairing, then the app and device will communicate without issue.
